CALL FOR APPLICATIONS : MAP RESIDENCY, PRIM CENTRE, MONTREAL, QUEBEC, DEADLINE : OCTOBER 30th 2016
In the Framework of the Map mobility programme, Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes and PRIM Centre launch a call for applications for a fourth-month residency in Montréal, Québec, from 1st February to 30th May 2017, with the support of the Arts and Literature Council of Québec.
PRIM is a reference post-production centre that supports independent creation by opening its postproduction equipment and expertise to artists operating in the field of media arts, in order enable them to freely create works that are recognised for their high technical quality.
The residency is open to cinema, video, audio or new media artists whose artistic practice
simultaneously associates experimentation, exploration, and research at the production stages. Preferred artistic practices are video installation, audio, documentary essay, art video, sound art, experimental fiction and animation.
The application must express needs in terms of access to PRIM’s facilities and support from its technical team. The artist will demonstrate the experimental nature of his proposal as well as the impact that this residency may have on his creation process. I will clearly explain to what extent and why PRIM’s support is necessary to his artistic progression and creative process. The candidate’s personal approach must be consistent with Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes’ concept: “encounter and joint creation”.
